Attack of the Neptunian Space Beetles from Space, Part 14

Somewhere on a distant planet a flock of fishbirds started to fly up into the lower stratosphere as a deep rumbling sound continued to come closer to their jungle grove. Suddenly, a strange-looking vehicle burst through the foliage and stopped. It was similar to a standard army jeep with the exception that there was a large bubble on top and it appeared to be hovering just inches off the ground by means of a series of small propellers. Inside the bubble, there was a man wearing what looked like a camoflauge radiation suit; he sat by a control panel, trying to find the jeep's location on a side screen. There was also a woman operating a menacing-looking gun wearing the same suit, but with a bright red headband, only mentioned here because of its signifigance later in the story.
"Hey Cal," said the woman, "Ya think we lost 'em?"
"I don't know, Sally," Cal replied, "They're not showing up on the map, but I think we've gone off the map."
"Well what do we do now?"
"bzzzzzzzzzz" said the Jungle
"Holy shit," shouted Cal, "three squadrons of stingers, headed straight at us! Get ready!"
Cal thrust a something forward, and the jeep started to move as 15 human-sized wasps appeared above them. Sally started shooting at them. She managed to kill 4 of them, but they kept getting closer.
"There's too many! I can't hold em off!" The wasps swarmed in closer. Cal pressed a button, and the jeep turned completely vertical. It shot up straight into the air, out of the swarm of wasps.
"Well Honey, looks like we got outta that mess alright..." a giant stinger shot through the bubble shield and went right through Cal, going straight into his seat. "gasp..." gasped Cal, as he breathed his final breath. "No!" screamed Sally.
The jeep started to plummet downwards, it's back end getting closer to the ground. It hit and the engine exploded, engulfing the wasps and the surrounding jungle in a brilliant orange fireball.

Light.
Dark.
Sally opened her eyes. It was dark, very dark, impenetrably dark, as dark as the nights which haunt men's souls.
"What is must thus shall ever be." A voice floated through air, cutting into Sally's marrow.
"Where am I? Am I dead? Where's Cal?" Sally shouted.
The voice replied, "Your late husband could not join us. And as for you, you are not dead. I managed to save you this time.
"Who are you!"
"I am Lord Azeroth, and there are many things we must do..."
