Sally was lying down, or up. She couldn't tell which direction she was facing, but she could tell that she was stuck to something, something sticky. Suddenly she fell. As she got used to the dim light, she saw that she was in a large octagonal room with honey dripping from the walls, and two bees (its always two) each a foot taller than her standing on their two back legs and holding fearsome yet organic looking weapons. She was in a hive...a giant hive.
"The QUEEN demands your presence!" shouted one of the bees in what was equivalent to a verbal sting.
"Yes! SHE demands it!" shouted the other, "Now walk puny vertebrate!"
Before Sally could reply, the bees shoved her out of the room and into a dim hallway that seemed to extend a mile, connecting each room to all the other identical rooms. These were bees; bees that had attacked her and killed her husband, Cal. So she was therefore back in the first dimension, but that brought her little relief. She tried thinking of ways to escape, but none came to her. Besides, where would she go once she had escaped?
The two bees started talking to each other, ignoring the obviously stupid human.
"Today was a strange day, wasn't it Thraxnor?" asked one of them.
"It is as the QUEEN wills it, Zrolnaz," replied Thraxnor with confidence and supremacy. But then he whispered, "But two vertebrates appearing on our ship in one day is strange."
Two vertebrates? thought Sally, Maybe it's another human. But her hopes were dashed as she saw Lipsin coming towards her in the hallway. She kept her head down and tried to stop, but the bees forced her to keep walking. She waited for something to happen, but nothing did, so she looked up. Lipsin was walking normally, but his eyes were glazed over with something that looked like...honey!
"Glory be the QUEEN," he said happily.
"Glory be the QUEEN," the bees grunted back.
Something was terribly wrong.
Suddenly there was a loud ringing inside her head.
"Ahh! What is that?"
"What is that," laughed Zrolnaz, "We're not going to be fooled by that one again."
Thraxnor chuckled in agreement.
The ringing kept getting louder, to the point that it seemed Sally's brain would actually shatter,
until... Hello.
WHAT! thought Sally frantically.
Do not be afraid. It is me, Lord Azeroth.
YOU! You've gotta come straight with me. There are some questions I need answered.
They can wait. First you must escape from this place before they take you to the Grand Chamber. Not even I can help you once the queen has you. Now RUN!
WHAT? asked Sally, but the Lord Azeroth's voice was gone.
Suddenly there was a terrific cracking sound, and the two bees behind her crumpled.
Sally turned around and saw that they were dead. She picked up one of the guns. It was very light, and although she didn't know how to use it, she had operated other types of bee technology. Then she ran...
