Attack of the Neptunian Space Beetles from Space, Part 1

--c.1975 America--
It had been twenty years since the Markson-brother-fire destroyed the downtown of old Georansois, a town on the borders of Georgia, Arkansas, and Illinois. Twenty years later, the people had rebuilt; the downtown was a functional, perfectly happy place; the problem was that it was styled in the utilitarian model of the
1960s utilitarian-inhuman-monstrosity-ism;
this was the same train of thought that brought about many of the other horrible legacies of the 60s: the near death of Latin, the growth of Esperanto, hippies, modern popular music, and everlasting world peace.

However, the townspeople were satisfied because they were out to prove that they too, along with the Soviets, the designers of the "ghetto" housing projects, and Nazi Germany, were capable of building 'Stalin-esque' structures.

But their arrogance and admiration of defunct totalitarian aesthetics would bring their downfall. For, at the edge of Oorg asteroid belt deep in outerspace, a forgotten Soviet telescope collided with a Nazi V-2 space rocket. The resulting explosion destroyed 403,234,575,121,000,000,000 cubic miles. It also happened to 'un-melt' an ancient asteroid containing the suspended larval stage of the Neptunian Space Beetles, the descendants from an ancient line of Neptunian royalty who had become exiled from their home planet upon the Soviet invasion of Neptune and larger gas planets in 1954.

Now, unfrozen and endowed with more energy, the monstrosities proceeded to attack the soviets in space.

On earth, the soviets were receiving distressing telegraphs from Neptune:

this roughly translates to:

"help us, the space beetles, they have been revived. They are attacking!"

...
