Cheap Gothic Soap Opera, Part 1

Harold ran through the forest, holding the last shard of the sacred amulet of Mahalahar. He should have never opened the tomb. Now it was chasing after him. Something grabbed his leg...

"I will not allow you to marry him Elizabeth!" Ms. Woodson sat down on the couch. Mr. Woodson tried to ignore the conversation that was going on behind him by staring at the painting above the mantle and by going through the contents of the family whiskey cabinet.
Elizabeth Woodson put her hands on the table decisively. "I love him, mother. And he loves me."
"Absolutely not."
"You just don't want this wedding to happen because Bob's from the Black Lagoon. Honestly, you're so old-fashioned. Can't you see through the scales and the slime? Well I can."
Bob walked into the room, dripping water and fish. "Elizabeth, darling," he said, "I'm afraid I can't marry you. I have a terrible secret..."
